In the three months ending October 15, 2026, Rockdale sales split into quick contracts and long waits, around a typical 58 days to reach a contract. In my read, the first price decides which side of that split a listing lands on, and the other two checks are how the listing is promoted and the condition of the home itself.

11 Rockdale homeowners have trusted my real estate team to sell their home, and that count doesn’t include a single buyer we’ve represented. Everything on this page comes from the same MLS record we used to price those homes.
What these numbers mean if you are selling is on Selling in Rockdale, TX? How Cornerstone and older homes share one market, and every number on this page is also broken out in the tables on Where does Rockdale's 76567 stand against Cameron, Thorndale and Taylor?
Last updated October 16, 2026. Sales data covers the 90 days ending October 15, 2026 and the twelve months ending the same day (Unlock MLS via MLS Grid); listing inventory as of October 16, 2026.
A smaller share of Rockdale listings failed to sell than in the metro, measured the same way. Over the last three months, 15 listings failed to sell, which means they expired or were withdrawn without a sale. Counted against every listing that reached an outcome either way, that makes 34.9% for Rockdale and 39.9% for the Austin metro.
Most sellers who list here do find a buyer. The MLS does not record why any one listing failed, in Cornerstone or anywhere else in town, so the reasons on this page are my read.
Rockdale contracts cluster at the two ends. Table 1 shows it: the quick group and the long group are each larger than either middle group.
Table 1. How long the 28 homes that sold in Rockdale took to go under contract, cumulative days on market to contract, 90 days ending October 15, 2026. Source: Unlock MLS.
| Days on market | Homes sold |
|---|---|
| 30 days or less | 9 |
| 31 to 60 days | 6 |
| 61 to 90 days | 3 |
| More than 90 days | 10 |
The typical home took 58 days, and that median sits in a part of the table where fewer homes landed. A listing here tends to end up in the quick group or the long one.
That is why I read the median with care. It describes few Rockdale homes, and with only 28 sales in the sample, one more quick contract or one more long wait moves the picture.
New supply does not stand out in this data. In the last three months, 26 new listings came on the market while 28 homes sold, so the town added about as many homes as it sold.
That points back to the listing itself. In my read, a quiet Rockdale listing is more often about the price, the promotion or the house than about a crowd of new competitors.
Sold homes mostly closed below where they started. The resales among the sales closed at 92.8% of original asking, which in my read is what a first price meets here: a seller who opens at that number is joining a long list of homes that later came down.
What those homes sold for, in dollars and per square foot, is on What is your Rockdale home worth next to Cornerstone’s lower asking prices? Who a resale competes with, and in which price ranges, is on Does Cornerstone compete with your Rockdale house, or only the older homes?
I explain what decides speed in the first weeks on the Manor page, How long does it take to sell a home in Manor, and what speeds it up?
Start with the price. Look at the homes for sale near yours that match it in size and age, and look at what they asked when they listed as well as what they ask today. A price set against first asking prices on the street is set against numbers that many of those sellers have already given up.
Then look at the promotion. In my read, with 48 homes for sale in town, a listing has to be easy to find and easy to ask about, with photographs that show the home as it is.
Last, look at the house. The typical home in Cornerstone was built in 2025 and the typical home in Original Town- Road in 1945, so an inspector’s list differs by street, and a seller can read it before a buyer does.
The typical Rockdale listing has been up 73 days so far, and most of the homes for sale have already come down from their first price.
The share that has cut, and whether that should change when you list, is on Does a buyer’s market mean you should wait to sell in Rockdale? The scoreboard behind these numbers is on Where does Rockdale’s 76567 stand against Cameron, Thorndale and Taylor?
A few things shift the odds, and you can check most of them yourself. If that is you, the fastest way to know is to run your address.
What a buyer would pay for your home is on What is your Rockdale home worth next to Cornerstone’s lower asking prices?
A listing that goes quiet usually comes back to the same three questions: the price, the promotion and the house.
Here is the property-level version: at the price you would start at, with the marketing it would get, would a buyer choose yours over the Cornerstone home or the older house that has already cut?

Chris’s position, WIR positions library, approved September 9, 2026.
A home that does not sell has a price problem, a promotion problem, or a product problem, and usually the seller was told it was the market. Plenty of homes are marketed badly, by agents who have no system for following up and no system for responding the minute a buyer raises a hand.
In Rockdale, the price side is the easiest to see: only 6 homes closed at or above their original asking price in the last three months.
